Part 1: Privacy Policy
In The Know Adventures (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how it’s handled, when you visit this website, apply for a trip, or book with us.
1. Who we are
In The Know Adventures, based at Idriz Alidhima, Sarandë, 9701, Albania. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@intheknowadventures.com.
2. What we collect
- When you join our waitlist or newsletter: your name and email address (via Kit).
- When you apply for a trip: your name, email, phone number, age, location, the trip you’re applying for, your answer confirming you’re comfortable with our women-only format, why you want to join, any fitness/mobility/medical information you choose to share, and how you heard about us (via our Airtable application form).
- If you’re accepted and book: the same information above, plus payment information (processed directly by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card details), an emergency contact name and number, and your signature on our Trip Participation Agreement.
- During the trip: photos and videos may be taken of you by our team or fellow travelers, per the media release in your signed Agreement.
- Automatically, when you browse this site: standard technical data like IP address and browser type, and cookies — see Section 6.
3. Why we collect it, and our legal basis
- To process your application and assess trip fit.
- To manage your booking, payment, and communications about your trip.
- To keep you and other travelers safe (medical/fitness disclosures, emergency contacts).
- To market and promote future trips (waitlist/newsletter signups, and promotional use of trip photos per your signed release).
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the third parties needed to run your trip and this business:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Kit (ConvertKit) — email marketing and your waitlist/newsletter signup.
- Airtable — storing your application and booking details internally.
- Google Workspace — internal document and communication storage.
- Any local guides, drivers, hotels, or ground operators in Albania who need your name/dietary/medical info to arrange your trip — we share only what’s needed for them to look after you safely.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
5. How long we keep it
Application data for unsuccessful applicants is deleted after 12 months; booking/traveler data is kept for the length of any legal/tax retention requirement after the trip.
6. Cookies
This site uses cookies for basic functionality and may use analytics/marketing cookies (e.g. if you run Meta/Google ads or use analytics tools). This site uses Google Analytics and Google Search Console. As we have visitors from the UK and EU, we use a cookie consent banner (CookieYes) that lets visitors accept or decline non-essential cookies before they load.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to withdraw consent for marketing at any time (every email from us has an unsubscribe link). To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@intheknowadventures.com.
8. Children
Our trips and this website are intended for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent version.
Part 2: Website & Booking Terms and Conditions
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of this website and to booking a trip with In The Know Adventures. They work alongside (not instead of) the Trip Participation Agreement, Waiver of Liability & Release that every traveler signs before departure — where the two overlap, the signed Agreement governs your actual trip participation, and these Terms govern the website and booking process itself.
2. How booking works
- You apply via our online application form.
- We review applications and respond within 48 hours.
- If accepted, you’ll receive a link to pay your deposit and a copy of our Trip Participation Agreement to review and sign.
- Your place is only confirmed once your deposit is paid and your Agreement is signed.
3. Payment terms
- A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the trip price is due to confirm your place.
- The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before departure.
- All payments other than the deposit are fully refundable if you cancel more than 3 months before departure. Within 3 months of departure, payments are non-refundable.
- Full detail on cancellations, trip changes, and refunds is set out in your Trip Participation Agreement.
4. Accuracy of website content
We do our best to keep pricing, itineraries, and availability accurate and up to date, but occasionally errors happen or details change (flights, local conditions, supplier availability). We’ll always tell you about any material change to your specific trip.
5. Intellectual property
All content on this website — text, photos, logos, and design — belongs to In The Know Adventures unless otherwise credited, and may not be copied or reused without permission.
6. Links to other websites
This site may link to third-party websites (suppliers, guides, booking tools). We’re not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we don’t operate.
7. Governing law
These website and booking terms are governed by the laws of Albania, consistent with the governing law in your Trip Participation Agreement.
